The Region Event Center is located at 858 Monterey St, right in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo. Nestled among the city's vibrant shops, restaurants, and historic architecture, it offers a prime location for events and gatherings. Just steps away from Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and the lively Higuera Street, the venue provides easy access to local attractions and ample parking options nearby. Its central location makes it a convenient and stylish choice for any occasion.
Our space is ideal for intimate gatherings, with options for seated dinners accommodating up to 60 guests, or standing cocktail receptions for up to 175 guests.
Included in the Venue Rental Fee are an on-site event manager and bartenders (we require one bartender per 50 guests). Our existing white marble top tables and dining chairs are in the Highland Room. Cushioned patio bench seating and patio lounge couches on the Coastline Patio. Two elegant lounge seating areas in the Valley Bar area. Bar glassware, existing flatware, and china. As well as a digital welcome sign at the front door and a large-screen TV in the Highland Room for video loops and signage.
The venue rental fee allows for two hour set-up time prior to the start of the event for decor set up. Additional time would need to be discussed with Region Event Manager and may be subject to additional fees.
Rental of Region Event Center is based on a four-hour event in addition to two hours for set up prior to start of the event and a one-hour breakdown after the conclusion of the event. All events must be concluded by 10 pm.
We do not have on-site parking, however there are two parking structures on Palm Street that are within easy walking distance to Region Event Center
Yes, all wine and beer must be purchased through the Region Event Center. we proudly feature a curated selection of wines from premier, independent local winemakers and craft beers from beloved local breweries, providing a true taste of San Luis Obispo’s local flavors. If you choose not to provide bar services for your event, a wine/beer opt-out fee will be applied.
Yes, we do. Following City of San Luis Obispo ordinances, all music must end by 10 pm We are also equipped with SONOS in all spaces on the venue and are more than happy to play a Spotify playlist provided by you for your event.
We kindly request that nothing be attached to walls or windows. In addition, we do not allow any glitter, confetti, or rice.
The Region staff will handle the setup and breakdown of all items owned by the venue, including tables, chairs, and furniture. These will be arranged according to a confirmed floor plan at the start of the rental period. Should any chair movements or space rearrangements be necessary, our team will oversee and assist, although we do require cooperation from the food catering team to ensure efficient execution.
No, due to our licensing, we are not allowed to serve spirit alcohol. Additionally, due to licensing, all wine and beer must be purchased through the Region Event Center
Yes, we do! We work closely with a variety of local caterers and restaurants familiar with our space and ready to provide exceptional dining options. You are not required to use one of our recommended caterers and may choose to work with any caterer or restaurant you choose. Caterers have access to our full commercial kitchen two hours prior to the start of the event.
We have audio and visual equipment which you are granted access to. While we can not have you play music from your personal device, you are welcome to share a spotify playlist with our events manager to play during your event. Otherwise we will have a pre-curated playlist that can be played.
You are more than welcome to! Most events do require dedicated service staff to be provided for the event. Region Event Center is more than happy to provide dedicated service staff for your event at an additional labor charge.
